Materials to reflect your style

Custom home designs reflect many styles. While the layout and design are important, it is the materials that truly define the style of the home. An industrial style uses materials like corrugated metal panels, exposed rafters, copper and distressed metals. Whereas a more modern style makes use of materials like steel, glass, and granite along with straight lines and clean exteriors. Similar to a modern design, contemporary designs use stone, light woods, vinyl, glass, neutral colors and many of the same clean lines. If you are more of a traditionalist, the scheme will feature stone, shingled roof, dormers, carved woodwork and heavier materials. If a rustic design is what you want, there will be lots of wood, stone and raw materials.

Even though each design style is unique, a lot of the same materials can be used in different ways to reflect your style of home.
